In the context of the series, Hot Pie’s action may seem small but it carries weight. It reaffirms that Arya still has a “home” in the form of love from a friend. Even though she has become a faceless assassin with no name and no identity, in Hot Pie’s eyes, she is still Arya the same friend who once ran and starved alongside him, with a heart that still beats like his.
